Job Summary:
We are looking for an Optical Assistant who is enthusiastic and who has excellent customer service to join our team in a busy independent optical practice on a for 4/5 days a week basis.. The role requires you to assist the Optometrists, provide information to customers and help them select the best products and services to ensure they have the best eye health possible. You will be kept up to date with all the various new lines and promotions within the practice so that you can always provide customers with the most up-to-date information. Lastly, you will play your part within the team, working together and helping to support colleagues deliver an excellent level of service.
We are looking for someone who is willing to be flexible with their working hours and able to cover staff holidays.
Major duties and responsibilities:
• Deliver excellent customer service and demonstrate a high degree of professionalism
• Know the products and stay fresh with new merchandise and trends
• Ensure store is displayed in an organised manner
• Accurately operate the POS system and accounts for all transactions
• Perform work accurately and thoroughly despite time pressure and customer volume
• Assist the customer in selecting frames that are best suited for their lifestyle and
prescription needs
• Maintain strict patient confidentiality

* Education and experience:
• GCSE English and Mathematics, IT qualification
• Previous Optical experience 1 year
• Customer service experience
Part-time hours: 30-37.5 per week
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Contract
Salary: £18,000.00-£21,000.00 per year
