Local independent practice stacking up the trophies

Independent family Opticians, Eglinton Eyecare, took home the Independent Practice of the Year Award as well as the Practice Personality of the Year Award presented to their Practice Manager, Claire Buchanan, at this year’s SightCare Awards 2018.

The successful practice beat competition from across the whole of the UK and Ireland, and topped the other finalists across their categories to win the prizes during theSightCare Business & Networking Conference awards ceremony held in Telford on 17th September. 

Winning a Sightcare Award is one of the highest accolades optical professionals, practices and companies can achieve.  In the Independent Practice of the Year competitive category, the expert judging panel was looking for a support team of staff who demonstrates excellence in customer service and patient care as well as evidence of a passion for optics.  Eglinton Eyecare was presented with the award for its friendly, open and personable approach to patient care, working together as a close-knit team to give each and every visitor an exceptional and memorable experience.

The practice was also commended for its commitment to the region, including visiting community groups and local schools to carry out eye health workshops.  Judges also commended Eglinton Eyecare’s continuous commitment to charity through their local annual fundraising activities as well as their dedication to specialist services for children within their practices, including expertise in child reading difficulties and dyslexia.

Eglinton Eyecare’s Practice Manager, Claire Buchanan was awarded Practice Personality of the Year due to her exceptional leadership and encouragement to her optical team in the practice.  The judging panel recognised her dedication to the practice team as well as its patients, delivering a reliable and excellent customer service experience.
