NIOS CONTACT LENS DAY – WEDNESDAY 18TH MAY 2016 – HILTON HOTEL TEMPLEPATRICK
This years Contact Lens Day was held in a new venue, The Hilton Hotel in Templepatrick.  It was very well attended by Optometrists and Dispensing Opticians from around the province who thoroughly enjoyed the excellent opportunity for expanding their knowledge on contact lens fitting, networking with other professionals and spending time at the exhibition area.
It was a superb event for earning CET points as there was a Peer Discussion session, a workshop on Topography as well as three lectures.  Dr Caroline Christine started the morning with an excellent lecture on ‘Dry eye management’ and this was followed by a very informative lecture hosted by Scott Brown (Scotlens) on ‘Refracting the un-refractable’.
The Peer Discussion sessions were led by Patrick Richardson (UUC) on more complex contact lens fitting scenarios that many of the delegates wouldn’t have vast experience of in general practice.
Trusit Dave concluded the day with a brilliant talk on understanding multifocals and getting them to work.
