7.00 pm  LECTURE 1:  Prescribing for Optometry: When too much therapeutics is not nearly enough!  

8.00 pm  LECTURE 2:  Dry Eye with a Twist: A Re-appraisal.

Both lectures will be given by Mr Peter Frampton MSc FCOptom BAppSc(Optom)(AUS) DipTp(AS) DipTp(SP) DipTp(IP). 

Folowing the lectures, Mr Simon Bond BSc(Hons) MCOptom DipTp(IP) will give an overview of the Independent Prescribing qualification of the College of Optometrists and its potential use in Northern Ireland .

Peter Frampton trained as an Optometrist at QUT, Brisbane Australia ; he moved to Britain in 1986 and took ownership of Aaron Optometrists in 1993.  Peter attained a Masters Degree with Distinction in Ocular Therapeutics from Bradford University.   His research project entitled ‘ Sleep Induced Peaks in Intraocular Pressure and Possible Implications with the use of Prostaglandin Analogue Drugs in the Management of Chronic open angle Glaucoma’ also received a distinction.  Peter won ‘Optometrist of the Year’ and his practice achieved ‘Technology Practice of the Year’ at the Optician Awards in 2005.
